Culture, Context, and Community: The Global Crisis of Connection at NYU Abu Dhabi
Event Date(s)April 11, 2015
PACH partnered with NYU Abu Dhabi to host a full day workshop with NYU Abu Dhabi students, faculty, and staff on April 11th, 2015. The focus of the workshop presented what we know from the sciences about who we are as humans, what disrupts our humanity, and how do we reconnect to our common humanity. The workshop entailed a panel presentation by PACH members along with dyadic interviews conducted by the students as well as small group discussions of ways to integrate the themes of PACH into the NYU Abu Dhabi campus. The We are Human campaign was conducted in Abu Dhabi in January, with Kim Nguyen, the Project Manager of PACH, collecting videos from the students, faculty, and staff to include in a short film that will be shown at the workshop. A version of this workshop will be incorporated in the annual freshman orientation week at NYU Abu Dhabi and follow-up PACH related activities will be developed for sophomores, juniors, and seniors as well as staff and faculty.
