Katie DeAngelis

Assistant Project Manager

Katie DeAngelis joined PACH after graduating from New York University's Steinhardt School of Education, Culture, and Human Development with a B.S. in Applied Psychology and Global Public Health. Throughout her undergraduate career she worked in NYC public preschools and elementary schools, conducted research on HIV contraction and social support among young men who have sex with men (MSM), and worked with Dr. Niobe Way extensively on her mothers gender socialization qualitative analysis project, as well as PACH's 2016 Love Rally.

Katie's research interests focus on the ways that mothers raise daughters to resist gender stereotypes. She is also interested in the intersectionality of gender, race, class, and sexual orientation in the sexualization of adolescent girls, and the consequences for their mental and physical health.
