David Amodio

David Amodio, Ph.D., is currently Professor of Social Psychology at the University of Amsterdam and previously Associate Professor of Social Psychology and Neural Science at New York University. Dr. Amodio’s research examines the roles of social cognition and emotion in the regulation of behavior, and the neural mechanisms underlying these processes. Much of his work examines these processes in the context of prejudice and stereotyping, although his interests extend to the areas of motivation and health psychology. Dr. Amodio directed the NYU Social Neuroscience Laboratory and the NYU Social Neuroscience Network, and he co-founded the Social & Affective Neuroscience Society. He currently serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.
