Adrian Nicole LeBlanc

Adrian Nicole LeBlanc is a journalist and the author of Random Family: Love, Drugs, Trouble, and Coming of Age in the Bronx--the result of a decade spent with members of one extended family.  The nonfiction book enabled readers to inhabit some of the daily experiences of a community in an impoverished Bronx neighborhood.

LeBlanc has been recognized for her devotion to the subjects of her work with a MacArthur fellowship.  She is currently completing another decade’s long project on stand-up comedians.  This is not a seismic shift:  she is interested in improvisational survival strategies and in open secrets--truths "hiding" in plain sight.
