Lisa Arrastia

Lisa Arrastia is a lecturer in the Writing and Critical Inquiry program at University of Albany, State University of New York. Originally from New York City, she is the founder and former director of a small school in Chicago and has worked as a principal and teacher in independent, international, and public middle and high schools in New York and California. Lisa is the co-editor of Starting Up: Critical Lessons from 10 New Schools published with Marvin Hoffman on Teachers College Press in 2012, and she is the founder, designer, and lead educational consultant for the Minneapolis Teachers Institute, which offers year-long fellowships to middle and high school teachers.
